Beeswax
Protective wax
What is Beeswax?
Beeswax (cera alba) is made by honeybees; it thickens balms and creams and leaves a light protective film that slows moisture loss. It is not vegan. “Synthetic beeswax” is a lab-made blend of fatty esters and acids designed to behave like beeswax — it contains no bee products. Both are generally well tolerated.
In skincare terms, Beeswax is an emollient that softens skin and helps support a smooth, comfortable feel, and a texture ingredient that shapes how a product feels and spreads on the skin.
